Project Description

This project consisted of approximately 25,000 SF of interior fit-out as well as a 4,000 SF building addition. Kimball performed and managed the CSA package, which included selective demolition, augured piles, grade beams, structural steel and slab on grade. The interior finishes included drywall partitions, ACT, wall guards, handrail, wall coverings and miscellaneous specialty items. With the cooperation of many subcontractors, all contract requirements were fulfilled under a very tight schedule despite numerous structural and architectural changes requested by the owner. Due to the hospital’s location at an extremely busy intersection in downtown Baltimore and the necessity to provide access in and out of the main entrance to the hospital, demolition of the existing structure, as well as construction of the new addition and concrete structures were extremely challenging.
